Ate the Brakes professionals

Ate has always been recognized as one of the best brands for brake system spare parts.

The company was founded in 1906 in a small workshop in Frankfurt am Main. In the beginning, the main activity was the resale of automotive materials and spare parts. In 1909 the founder Alfred Teves created a radiator factory and soon became one of the main suppliers of car manufacturers such as Audi, Wanderer and Hansa.

In 1921 the Ate brand was born and the resale of automotive spare parts leaves more and more space for the production and supply of components for the automotive industry.

In 1926 Teves realized the potential of the hydraulic brake and obtained the license for production and distribution for Austria, Germany and Czechoslovakia. But soon, thanks to innovative technical developments and new production processes, Teves frees itself from the American company and the first Ate braking systems are born.

In 1934, both Donington Park Grand Prix winning cars, Auto-Union and Daimler-Benz, were equipped with ATE braking systems, optimized by Teves for motorsport. With the two brake circuits and the tandem master cylinder, the systems became turning points in the state of the art of the time. Success in motorsport and innovative products enabled ATE to become the most successful brake system manufacturer in the 1930s, with a sales network with over 150 representative offices throughout Europe.

Ate brake pads

Ate brake pads are produced with more than 150 different material lege because each vehicle model needs the ideal brake pad.

The top-of-the-range Ate family of brake pads is called Ate Ceramic. The secret of the new brake pads is an innovative compound that creates a "transfer film" on the brake disc during braking, protecting it from excessive wear. The result: less dust, more comfort, less wear.

A series of comparative tests, under everyday use conditions, has shown that ATE Ceramic brake pads have significantly less wear than standard brake discs and also extend the life of the brake discs. The reduction in consumption decreases maintenance costs and increases driver satisfaction.

Ate Brake Discs

offer maximum safety in all driving conditions. Calago Ate Ricambi covers 99% of the car fleet.

The quality of the materials is of the highest order and, to offer optimal performance, a production process is dedicated to each vehicle model. Our experience and our passion for technologies allow us to achieve this pioneering quality.

ATE was the first company to introduce high carbon content disc brakes because they guarantee better thermal conductivity. This prevents the brake disc from deforming, swaying sideways or being eroded by overly aggressive pads. By overcoming all these effects, abnormal disc consumption is avoided.

The question "Ate or Brembo brake discs?"

There is no answer to this question, both are 2 companies that work closely with car manufacturers and develop new technologies for braking systems. They are both present in Motor sport and each year invest a part of the profits in the research and development of new products and technologies.
